Trust, Movement, Authenticity & Being with.

A relational psychoanalytical approach is dynamic and employs a mutual emotional relationship that we co-create in a shared space. I am the wrong therapist for you if you are looking for a white coat analyst who tends not to lean in, express felt emotions, or process collaboratively. A shared co-processing space enables me to understand your inner world, which invites you to bravely develop an increased awareness of how your inner world impacts your external world. As we relationally explore thoughts, relationships, feelings, and behaviors in both conscious and unconscious ways, you can begin to engage your external world differently, employing new lenses, skills, and outlooks. My relational style invites active and genuine engagement leading to a trusting therapeutic alliance. In my own life, authentic transformation and change have often occurred when authenticity and courage to lean in together come to life.  Isolation is the killer.

FAQs

Do you take Insurance?

My practice is not paneled” in network” with any insurance companies. However, if you are billing for therapy, I’m happy to provide a receipt documentation, including a “super bill” as an out of network provider.

Will you have an office for in person therapy?

My plan is to open an office by the beginning of 2023.

I did not see a particular focused service I need help with, does that mean you cannot help me?

This question comes up often. My belief is effective therapy invites the therapist being flexible w/ their approach trying to meet their client’s needs. My main approach is relational and psychoanalytical, but often I apply CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Somatic Therapy & look to be trained in EMDR. Overall, I believe effective approaches share common factors —such as a therapist who treats the client with empathy, a rapport between the therapist and client (sometimes referred to as a therapeutic alliance), and agreement about the goals of therapy. For many kinds of distress, different types of therapy may have remarkably similar positive effects.

There are so many therapeutic words I don’t know, like modality, or approach, etc. What do these therapy words all mean?

There is plenty of psychology vernacular. You’re not alone feeling confusion. Therapy modalities, also called counseling modalities, comprise different categories of therapy. They are similar to physical therapy, which involves different techniques, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, or taping, to treat an injury. Psychological therapy modalities include different approaches to improving a patient's overall well-being.

Here is a mental health treatment modalities list, which includes some of the most common modalities and how they work. Click here

For individuals I charge $145 per clinical hour (50 minutes). For couples or family sessions,I charge $165 for 75 minute sessions.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

I I ask you to provide me with 48 hours' notice of cancellation for any appointment you will not be able to keep or that you desire to reschedule. Forty-eight hours' notice allows me sufficient time to offer your appointment time to another person who may need services. I charge the full session fee for no-shows, cancellations, or rescheduling with less than 48 hours' notice for any reason.

"Regardless of chosen approach, ideal therapists are comfortable with themselves and appear tolerant, sincere, serene, and self-assured. This quiet confidence is counterbalanced by a contagious zest for life. Passion. Excitement. Electricity. Enthusiasm. They radiate from body and soul. "
